We stopped at Mckecks for lunch and karen and Walt treated us royally. Since that time we expanded and have taken the whole 7th Pickering Scout Troop and Leaders for dinner. In 2010 we invited the 5th Meadowvale to join us and this year included the 6th Toronto. We called ahead and pre-booked (warned) Karen and staff that 54 would be in the house for dinner @ 5pm. I have been coming for years while my brother and I worked at Pinestone then I got smart and came over to work for Walt and Karen in 2001 (i think) , just a short stint but had a great time and Walt and Karen were great to work with. My brother Jason and I live West now in Revelstoke BC (SKI TOWN EXTRODINARE!) where we own and operate "The Last Drop Pub" in the Powder Springs INN...Mckecks was a place that helped us learn how to do it ourselves, and we love it! It was so great to live in a place with NO McDonald's, and still be able to bring our kids to a fun family place for great food (and wine & beer for mom & dad). From grade school through High School, Friday night was "McKecks wings night" at our house; and when the girls went off to university, the sad parents (us) went to McKeck's every Wednesday for supper for years :your restaurant was full of great family memories for us (& our house was suddenly WAY too quiet!). I am so grateful for the time I worked there and all the friends I made. You had to have a different personality to work there then. You couldn't take offence at anything and we didn't. We just worked hard and laughed harder. I sure hope I get to see a lot of you on the 25th so we can relive the stories over a cold one.
